grieving widow

Welcome to Daring On

Losing a loved one, especially your spouse, changes you forever. You’re no longer the same person you were before. The world feels dimmer, and there’s a deep sadness that never fully goes away. Grief doesn’t end—it becomes a part of you. But there is a way to live alongside it, to grow stronger through it, and to find a life that honours both your loss and your future.

My name is Lisa Scale, and I understand how overwhelming this journey can be. When I lost my husband—my world, my rock, my best friend—everything changed in an instant. His sudden, unexpected death left me shattered. I was unprepared for the shock and the loneliness that followed, and for a long time, I was lost in a fog, struggling to process the reality that he was gone forever. Like many of you, I had no idea how to move forward.

Losing a spouse turns your entire world upside down. It affects every part of your life—your finances, family dynamics, friendships, confidence, and sense of security. Everything shifts in a moment, and if you’re like me, you’re left wondering who you are now, and what will bring you joy in this new, unasked-for life.

So, what now?

You’re here because you’re ready to do something about how you feel. Even in the depths of your grief, you know that there has to be a way forward. You want to feel whole again, even if that feels impossible right now. And deep down, you understand that while life without your spouse is unimaginable, you still have a life to live—and they would want you to live it fully.

Now, we begin the journey of figuring out what that looks like. Together, we will take steps to redefine your future and discover how to move forward, honouring both your loss and the life that’s still ahead of you.
